FUTURE PLANS INCLUDE ARTS, CRAFTS, DANCE, OUTDOOR CLASSES, SPORTS ACTIVITIES & LEAGUES, HOLIDAY EVENTS, SUMMER FAMILY ACTIVITIES, ETC. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN OUR COMMITTEE, CALL 661-245-3438 OR EMAIL US. THANKS!!
HERE ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING OUR OWN PARK DISTRICT AND PROPERTY
OWNERS ASSOCIATION:
Local Control of OUR Park, Roads and the Water Co. by the property owners instead of by
the county or appointed, unresponsive representatives.
We keep the park revenues that are generated here.
Receipt of Park District monies- $332,000 in grant funds were lost in the last 2 years
from CalParks 2000 Bond Act and Prop. 40. that was taken from us by the county. This
in addition to property tax allocations budgeted to local Park Districts.
Having our own district sets up the legal entity needed to apply for and receive grants.
Elected local representatives on boards, NOT appointed.
Property owners have a vested ownership interest in our town and facilities.
We get Guest and equipment/facility/balls, camping etc. rental fees from non-owners.
Develop more recreational facilities- BMX, Volleyball, Croquet, Shuffleboard, camping,
amphitheatre facilities and special events. Concessions, youth recreation center, swimming
pool, other activities and facilities, events.
Leasing fees come to us- hall and grounds rentals etc.
Water District projects and activities and funds are overseen by Board of the property
owners, and we can fix our roads with grants.
Complete accounting for all funds- park, roads and water district- to the property owners
via an annual financial statement.
Major decisions placed on ballot or quarterly at "voting" meetings- property
owners have a voice in all major decisions.
Property owners have free use of all facilities; guests/ leasing parties pay.
No membership fees- membership comes with property ownership.
Year-round recreation/activity program for our kids and families.
Holiday events, dances, etc.
Maintenance fees and payroll are paid out of grants, park revenues and property tax
allocations.
Special Assessment opportunities CAN be made available for future development and
improvements, but ONLY IF THE PROPERTY OWNERS APPROVE IT ON THE BALLOT.
Current lot owners in this subdivision jointly own the roads and park, and other commons
areas right now, and share in the liability to any good attorney. No insurance
coverage exists to cover the property owners right now if there is litigation.
