Area Road Map:

Mt. Pinos Winter Ski Trail Map:
Note- This is a general area map. More detailed
maps with trail descriptions can be purchased from
Frazier Ski & Pack.
This map represents a dispersed recreation area
administered by the United States Forest Service, Los Padres National Forest and patrolled
during the winter season for safety purposes by volunteers from the National Ski Patrol.
This map was produced as a public service by the So. Calif. Nordic National Ski Patrol
and should only be used as a general area reference; ALWAYS purchase USGS topographical
maps (Sawmill Mountain and Cuddy Valley for Mt. Pinos) and use a compass, GPS and other
available products for more precise information. No liabilities are assumed or
implied by our making this information available to you. Travel in the backcountry,
either on or off-trail, and use of this map, is ENTIRELY at your own risk. Always
carry a cell phone, extra clothing, food and survival equipment when traveling in the
backcountry, ESPECIALLY during the winter! Be prepared for
possible injury, hazardous weather and impaired driving or backcountry conditions,
including freezing temperatures, frostbite, exposure and avalanche. Check ahead for
road and weather conditions on the links shown above. Always
follow your intuitions when in the backcountry; if it feels unsafe- it probably is.
Be alert for weather signs and quick weather changes. An altimeter can also be
used as a barometer and can help you easily predict weather changes.
Or.........carry a hand-held, battery-operated weather station. BE
PREPARED!! The mountains are unforgiving, especially in the winter; you will
frequently get only one chance to survive. Don't underestimate winter or summer
hazards to your personal safety.
