Early spring tour

STG offers year-round guided tours through the region, including nature study tours, sport fishing, sightseeing and Eco-tours, custom tours, acquaintance with native minority culture. In the winter STG will offer you ice fishing and crab catching, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and Russian Banya.

Moneron map Diving

At........Moneron Island, .......the first marine natural park in Russia! It is situated in the Tatar Strait, southwest of Sakhalin Island, and covers nearly 30 sq. km. The very uncommon combination of various forms of underwater life and the influence of the warm Tsushima stream explains the reason why the waters surrounding Moneron Island are as clear as they are and inhabited by subtropical types of sea-urchin and starfish. The charming beauty of rocks, crashing waterfalls, a rich abundance of birds nesting on their columnar stacks, abandoned Japanese paths crossing the island, legends of the Island's past times… All of these features create the unique underwater character and topograhical image of this Island.

Early in the morning you will be taken by car from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to the town of Nevelsk. It takes not more than 2 hours. And then ........you will enjoy a 3-hour journey on a boat which will take you right to Moneron Island.

Diving

Itinerary:
1st day
8 a.m. - departure from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk
10 a.m. - Arrival to Nevelsk
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Departure/travel by boat to Moneron Island.
1 p.m. - Arrival at Moneron Island (Chuprov Bay).
The exciting journey across the southern part of the Island ( Izo Bay, Tikhaya Bay). Diving into the sky-blue grottos, rest. You'll have a chance to see bird colonies situated on small rocky islands (Piramidalny, Vostochnye islands). Return to Chuprov bay.
2nd day
A journey by boat around the Island. You will see impassable Sugar Head Cape, turquoise water bays, steep rocky coasts. A visit of Kologeras Bay (north part of Island), rest. Diving into the crystal clear water will open an amazing world of sea-anemone, seashells, echinodermata and seaweed. Return to Chuprov Bay.
4 p.m. - Departure from the Island
7 p.m. - Arrival at Nevelsk
9 p.m. - Return to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk
