$now Guns & Packages:

$nowcal - $nowmasterI Basic Gun - We manufacture this basic gun, which is an excellent small, economy-priced unit for home snowmaking or small commercial operations. Hooks up to your outside faucet and a small, basic compressor. We suggest temperatures of about 25 degrees for this gun; a little higher for low humidity days and higher air and water pressures. For best results, your compressor should put out at least 110 psi in air pressure, and about 60 psi should be available from your water system.
This gun can be mounted with hose clamps to a tripod or
any upward-angulation, secure mounting device. Mount at least 4 feet off
the ground at a 30 to 45 degree angle. When ordering, please tell us what size hoses you will be using. Includes 3
different sizes of Nozzle Caps for different temp, water/air pressure uses and
experimentation. A surprisingly productive small gun.

We designed, engineered and now manufacture this brand new gun. It was tested and readied for production in October, 2006. We have incorporated our Patented, internal pre-cooling technology that allows snowmaking at much higher volumes than most guns on the market. It's a larger gun, and was specifically designed to produce a large amount of snow- approximately twice that of similar guns. With appropriate air and water pressure, this gun will blow snow right off your water faucet. A CD video of this gun in operation, or on-site demonstrations, are available on request. Click the link above to see more photos of it in operation.
This gun works best in lower humidities of 50% or less, or at higher humidities with wet bulbs of 22 or less. During testing on 11/29/06, at 23 degrees and 40% humidity, we covered an area about 100 by 200 feet with 2 inches of snow from one position in a little over an hour. In addition, the quality of snow produced by this gun is much drier and lighter than other guns. Coverage lengths of up to 200 feet occurred; with up-canyon light winds, we were getting aerial snow float of up to 300 feet on the run shown in the photos, with float heights of up to 40 feet! With a larger compressor, we have good reason to believe that this gun will blow at around 40 degrees in low-humidity conditions. At the end of the noted test session, we were blowing snow at around 34 degrees. On 12/3/06, we blew snow at 35 degrees with 15% humidity. Water during this tests was supplied from an adjacent standard water faucet, via garden hose into 1 inch snowmaking hose! Air was also supplied via 1" snowmaking hose during our tests. With larger compressors, water pumps and hoses, we believe the performance of this gun will be exceptional.
Plan on using a 185 CFM compressor or larger for this
snowgun, more if you are running several guns or for higher humidities. Water pressures that we have tested this new gun with have been
from 85 to 110 PSI. Optional, Fully-Adjustable Ball Valves allow you to
increase or decrease both air and water flows until it starts making snow.
Other options available for it include an external-injection nozzle for
additional cooling, pre-cooling extension pipes, 1 inch or 1 1/2 inch Kamlok
hookups, anti-reversion valves, fittings, tripods and adapters. The basic
gun, threaded and set up for using Kamloks, fittings and a tripod runs $1299.95.
We can quote the fittings, tripods, hose adapters, towers and other parts for
you, depending on your individual needs. Our simple, expandable basic
tower can reach from 5 to 10 feet in height, with one foot adjustment
increments, to give you extra spray length and that extra advantage in marginal conditions. If you are in California, contact us for a demo.

Insta-Snow
We can also sell you.......Insta-Snow ....... an amazing super-absorbent polymer that turns ordinary water into a fluffy substance that looks like real snow. In fact, this faux snow is so realistic that it is now being used in indoor snowboarding parks. Unlike traditional artificial snow, Insta-Snow will not melt or ice up. It also costs half as much to maintain, feels surprisingly realistic, and keeps skiers, sledders or snowboarders dry when they fall.
Insta-Snow expands to 100 times it's dry size. A 100 gram jar will make about 2 gallons of snow and the 1 pound bag makes about 8 gallons of snow. We also have 33 pound bags of Insta-Snow that can make about 264 gallons of snow or enough to cover a 75 square feet of area with 6" of snow.

Snow Magic
One of our suppliers is the only independent
representative for Snow Magic in the USA. This technology is new to America and will
change the snow sports industry. S This snowmaking system can make snow
regardless of temperature, for indoor snow facilities or an entire ski trail at
an outdoor ski area.
Snow Magic units are available in 25 ton, 50 ton, 100 ton
and- new for October 2004- the portable 40 ton unit. The 50 ton unit will
produce 3,330 cu. Ft/day with an average temperature of 50 degrees F. You
will be able to cover an estimated 250 foot long trail, 50' wide and 1' foot
deep every 24 hours. That will provide enough snow for a tubing hill in
just 24 hours when conventional snowmaking couldn't make a flake of snow.
The 40 ton portable unit will be available for special events and rentals.
Snow Magic systems use a form of an ice maker to freeze the water;
their patented crushing system then produces snow crystals that have an average micron
size (diameter) of 0.3 millimeters. The snow is blown out a flexible hose up to 600'
away to make piles of snow. Since the snow is frozen in a chamber, there is no loss
of water to evaporation like conventional snowmaking. In the long run this will add
up to large savings on water use and energy use.
For more detailed information, email
us and we will be happy to answer any questions you have and give a custom
quote for rental or purchase options.
The future of snowmaking is here!! Be prepared to spend major
investment funds to purchase this system, in the half million dollar range.. Prices are quoted on
request.
