Snowboard Waxing & Maintenance Basics:

Waxing and tuning your board is vital to getting a fast ride and large air, so don't neglect it. Freestyle riders need to pay special attention to the base of their board, as it's often getting slid along non-base-friendly things like rails, pipes, funboxes and more. Treat your base right and it'll treat you right.

There are three basic steps for enjoying your ride even more:

1. Keep your base clean

The best thing you can do for your board to maintain good glides is to keep it clean. A clean base glides better. You should give the base a good cleaning with a base cleaner.

2. Edge Tuning - Beveling is good!

3. Waxing

The formulas are designed for use on natural and man-made snow. Many races now involve artificial snow or a combination of man-made and natural snow mixed together that is machine altered by tracksetting machines. Krystal Line Hardwaxes These hardwaxes are characterized by a high degree of flexibility. Each VR-wax has two specified temperature ranges, one for falling and new fallen snow, (characterized by sharp snow crystals with relatively strong penetration capacity), and one range for older snow, when the crystals are rounded off and have less penetration power. The general rule is that when the snow is new, you wax harder. When it is transformed, you wax softer. 		New fallen snow: -7°C to -20°C (19°F to -4°F). Transformed fine grained snow: -10°C to -30°C (14°F to -22°F).
	VR30 Light Blue. 45 g. Designed for cold to extremely cold conditions.

		New fallen snow: -2°C to -8°C (28°F to 18°F). Transformed fine grained snow: -4°C to -12°C (25°F to 10°F).
	VR40 Blue. 45 g. For normal, subfreezing temperatures.
		New fallen snow: 0°C to -2°C (32°F to 28°F). Transformed fine grained snow: -2°C to -8°C (28°F to 18°F).
	VR45 FLEXI. Light Violet. 45 g. A flexible wax for temperatures around freezing and colder.
		New fallen snow +1°C to 0°C (34°F to 32°F). Transformed fine grained snow 0°C to -4°C (32°F to 25°F).
	VR50 Violet. 45 g. Designed for moist to dry snow around freezing 0°C (32°F). When used below freezing, high humidity is required.
		New fallen snow +2°C to 0°C (36°F to 32°F). Transformed fine grained snow +1°C to -2°C (34°F to 28°F).
	VR60 Silver. 45 g. Designed for wet snow with little water content. When used below freezing high humidity is required.
		New fallen snow +4°C to +1°C (39°F to 34°F).
	VR70 KLISTERWAX. Yellow. 45 g. For new, wet snow, glazy tracks. Must be applied evenly. To be used in tracks only.

		Frozen Corn Snow
	KR20 BASE KLISTER. Green. 55 g. -3°C to -25°C (27°F to -13°F). High wear resistance and adhesion. To be used as a first layer as a binder for other klisters or hardwaxes in very abrasive conditions. Can also be used alone for icy conditions at very cold temperatures. As a first layer klister, it should be heated into the base.
		Frozen Corn Snow Wet Corn Snow
	KR30 ICE KLISTER. Blue. 55 g. 0°C to -15°C (32°F to 5°F). For frozen, icy tracks in cold conditions. Can also be used as a base klister for wet-snow klisters to improve wear.
		Frozen Corn Snow Wet Corn Snow
	KR50 FLEXI KLISTER. Violet. 55 g. +3°C to -4°C (37°F to 25°F). Very adaptable, working on both sides of freezing. Ideally it is best on the cold side of freezing, but also when conditions are changeable and mixed with fine grained snow.

		Wet Corn Snow
	KR60 VARIO KLISTER. Red. 55 g. +5°C to 0°C (41°F to 32°F). Created for medium wet snow. “Vario” is best on the warm side of freezing.

		Wet Corn Snow
	KR70 AQUA KLISTER. Orange. 55 g. +12°C to +2°C (52°F to 36°F). Wet-snow klister. Use when the snow has a high water content such as slush, and the air temperature is well above freezing.
